Finance Controller – Manufacturing

At Blue Box Talent, we are seeking a Finance Controller to lead financial and accounting operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment based in Ohio.

We are looking for a highly analytical, hands-on finance leader with strong experience in manufacturing cost accounting, financial reporting, ERP systems, and operational finance. This role will partner closely with Operations and Supply Chain to improve cost control, profitability, and overall business performance.

The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work with complex transactional data, and proven experience leading finance teams and presenting financial insights to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial and accounting activities for a high-volume manufacturing operation.
• Manage and develop a team of 5–6 finance and accounting professionals.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, including job order, standard, process, and departmental costing.
• Monitor cost variances, inventory valuation, production efficiency, and profitability.
• Prepare financial reports, cost analyses, dashboards, budgets, and forecasts for senior leadership.
• Manage ERP-driven financial processes, data integrity, system improvements, and reporting automation.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong internal controls, financial governance, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of cost control experience within a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of ERP experience, ideally working with multiple systems.
• Strong knowledge of job order, standard, and process costing.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing and factory accounting environments.
• Proven experience managing a finance/accounting team and presenting financial information to senior leadership.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional business partnering skills.
• Experience with ERP implementation, systems optimization, or financial process improvement is highly valued.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Archbold, Ohio.
